Gulf States Condemn Alleged Iranian Aggression, Discuss Regional Security

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) foreign ministers convened an emergency meeting to address alleged Iranian aggression and its impact on regional stability, as tensions escalate following reported attacks and heightened diplomatic activity.

The United Arab Emirates has announced the closure of its embassy in Tehran and the withdrawal of its ambassador and diplomatic staff, strongly condemning Iranian missile attacks.

GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi voiced strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the commercial port of Duqm in Oman and a tanker off its coast.

According to reported figures, over 370 ballistic missiles and more than 1,000 drones have been launched by Iran towards Gulf countries since the recent escalation of confrontations.

Oman's state news agency reported that the Duqm commercial port was attacked by two drones, resulting in injuries to a foreign worker. Debris from another drone was found near fuel tanks, but no further casualties or material damage were reported.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has received a series of international calls, including one from U.S. President Donald Trump, who condemned the missile attacks targeting the Kingdom and affirmed Washington's full support for Riyadh, praising the efficiency of Saudi air defense systems.

The Saudi Crown Prince also received calls from the presidents of Algeria, Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon, the Sultan of Oman, the Greek Prime Minister, and the Chairman of Sudan's Sovereignty Council, amid intensive regional and international consultations to contain the escalation.
