AMMAN - Jordan is set to experience a spell of cooler weather, with a slight increase in temperatures expected on Wednesday, bringing them to around the seasonal average, according to weather forecasts.

Most regions will feel relatively cold, while the Badia, Ghor, Dead Sea, and Aqaba areas will enjoy milder conditions. Cloud cover is anticipated at lower altitudes in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be moderate, blowing from the west.

In Amman, temperatures are expected to range between 15-8 degrees Celsius in the eastern part of the city and 13-6 degrees Celsius in the west. The northern highlands will see temperatures of 11-4 degrees Celsius, while the Sharah highlands will experience 10-3 degrees Celsius. The Badia regions will have temperatures of 20-8 degrees Celsius, the plains 17-7 degrees Celsius, the northern Ghor 21-8 degrees Celsius, the southern Ghor 25-15 degrees Celsius, the Dead Sea 24-13 degrees Celsius, and Aqaba 25-14 degrees Celsius.

The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a weak extension of a low-pressure system centered northeast of Syria on Thursday, state metereologists reported. Cloud cover will gradually increase from the early morning hours, leading to cloudy and cold conditions in most areas. Showers are predicted in the north, potentially extending as light rain to the central regions and parts of the southwestern areas.

Winds will be active from the west to northwest, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 km/h, and strong gusts exceeding 60 km/h in some areas, particularly in the Badia, causing dust.

On Friday, the weather will be cold in most areas and relatively cold in the Ghor, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Low-altitude clouds are expected, with a possibility of light showers in limited parts of the north, center, and southwest during the morning hours. Winds will be moderate from the northwest, occasionally becoming more active.
