Rockets launched from Lebanon triggered alarms in northern Israel, the Israeli military said on Monday, marking the first such incident since U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
The Israeli military stated that it intercepted some of the rockets, while others landed in open areas. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Hezbollah, a major Iranian ally in the Middle East, has yet to comment on the reports of rocket fire from Lebanon. The group expressed solidarity with Iran on Saturday but did not state whether it would intervene.
Lebanon and Israel agreed to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in 2024, ending over a year of fighting between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah. The conflict had peaked with Israeli strikes that severely weakened the Iranian-backed organization. Since then, both sides have accused each other of violating the ceasefire.
