Irbid authorities removed 25 mobile stalls obstructing sidewalks and public roads in the city center and Hawara Street areas on Wednesday, officials said.

The move aimed to alleviate traffic and pedestrian congestion caused by the vendors, according to acting Irbid Governor Raed al-Jaafreh.

Al-Jaafreh added that a committee comprised of representatives from the Greater Irbid Municipality, the Health Directorate, the Industry and Trade Directorate, and the Royal Department for Environmental Protection also issued five environmental and health violations to other commercial establishments.

The governor's office affirmed that inspection tours of markets will continue throughout Ramadan, in coordination with relevant authorities, as part of an approved plan to intensify health control and ensure compliance with health and environmental requirements to maintain public safety.
