A number of doctors from Gaza have been honored for completing specialist and advanced training programs in Jordan, showcasing efforts to bolster healthcare expertise in the region.

The Jordanian Committee for Supporting the Health Sector in Gaza recognized the doctors during its annual charitable breakfast on Wednesday, acknowledging their completion of higher specialization and training programs in the Kingdom as part of the "Health Personnel Scholarship Project."

The recognition highlights the committee's work in empowering 168 healthcare professionals from Gaza, including specialist doctors, dentists, nurses, and lab technicians. The initiative aims to equip them to strengthen hospitals within the Gaza Strip with specialized expertise, particularly given the current circumstances.

Jihad al-Ajlouni, head of the committee, emphasized that the gathering embodies the paths the committee has been working on since its establishment in 2008. These efforts extend beyond direct relief support, such as sending medicines and medical delegations, to include sustainable human development through the training of medical personnel and the restoration of damaged health facilities in Gaza.

The graduating doctors expressed their appreciation for Jordan's historical role in supporting Gazans and overcoming obstacles to their academic achievement.

Muthar al-Jalamda, secretary of the Doctors Syndicate, distributed honorary shields to the graduating doctors.
