The Kuwait Stock Exchange has suspended trading operations, effective immediately, due to escalating regional tensions.

The exchange announced the halt, stating it would remain in effect until further notice, citing exceptional circumstances impacting the region and the need to ensure the safety of investors and market stability.

The decision follows reports of heightened military activity and geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East. This includes reported strikes and retaliatory actions impacting several countries.

The Kuwait News Agency reported that U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, affirming the United States' support for Kuwait and its willingness to assist in safeguarding its sovereignty.

The agency added that Trump assured the Crown Prince of the United States' readiness to provide all possible support to Kuwait.
