Turkey has suspended reciprocal day-trip border crossings for passengers at three customs gates on its Iranian border, the Turkish Trade Minister said.

While Turkey is permitting its citizens and those of other nations to enter from Iran, reciprocal arrangements have been halted, according to a statement released by Trade Minister Omer Bolat.

In a statement posted on X, Bolat specified that Iran is still allowing its citizens to cross into Turkey.

He added that commercial freight traffic through the three border crossings continues uninterrupted but under strict controls.

"All our units continue to perform their duties with the highest degree of readiness to ensure the continuation of Turkish border crossing services and trade movement smoothly," Bolat said.
