Jordan's energy and minerals regulatory commission received 1,006 license applications across various sectors in January, according to data released by the commission.

Of those applications, 47 were rejected.

The commission's data indicates a diverse range of interest across the energy landscape. Specifically, the breakdown of applications reveals significant activity in several key areas.

The radiation and nuclear sector accounted for 272 applications. The electricity and renewable energy sector saw 32 applications. A substantial 493 applications were submitted in the natural resources sector. The oil and derivatives sector registered 209 applications.

The commission also disclosed the number of rejected applications per sector. The electricity and renewable energy sector had 5 rejected applications. The natural resources sector saw 36 rejections. And the oil and derivatives sector had 6 applications turned down.
