UEFA and Real Madrid have reached a preliminary agreement to resolve their legal dispute concerning the proposed European Super League, the football governing body announced Wednesday.
The agreement follows months of discussions aimed at serving the best interests of European football, according to a statement released by UEFA.
UEFA, the European Club Association (ECA), and Real Madrid stated they have reached an agreement in principle for the benefit of European club football. The specifics of the agreement were not immediately disclosed.
The agreement will also allow for the resolution of legal disputes related to the Super League project once the principles are implemented, UEFA said.
