Jordanian authorities are investigating social media accounts accused of spreading false information and attempting to mislead the public, according to a statement from the Public Security Directorate.
The Cybercrime Unit is actively monitoring accounts that allegedly aim to distort public opinion and undermine confidence in state institutions, the spokesperson said.
Several account holders have been identified and are being sought by authorities. The investigation also extends to pages operating from outside Jordan, the spokesperson added.
The Public Security Directorate urged the public to obtain information from official sources and to refrain from sharing unverified content, particularly given the current regional tensions. Authorities are committed to providing timely and accurate information to the public.
