The Lebanese government has reportedly taken a significant step by banning the military and security activities of Hezbollah and demanding the group's disarmament. The decision, made during a cabinet meeting, calls for immediate action from military and security forces to implement the ban.

The move comes amid rising tensions and accusations of Hezbollah's involvement in regional conflicts, including allegations of attacks on foreign military installations.

According to multiple sources, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri had previously secured promises from Hezbollah that it would refrain from opening a front against Israel from Lebanon. However, unnamed ministerial sources told the 'Asharq Al-Awsat' newspaper that the group had deceived everyone, including Berri.

Further fueling the controversy, a government source in Cyprus told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that there was confirmation that Iranian-made drones, allegedly launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon, targeted a British military base in Cyprus.

Some sources have interpreted the discrepancy in Hezbollah's actions as a form of insubordination by the group's military wing, acting without the knowledge of the political leadership.
