Saudi air defense forces intercepted and destroyed eight drones near the cities of Riyadh and Al-Kharj, according to an official statement released early Tuesday.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense reported the interceptions, highlighting the Kingdom's continued efforts to safeguard its airspace.
In a separate incident early Tuesday, initial assessments indicated that the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh was targeted by two drones, the Ministry of Defense stated.
The attack on the embassy resulted in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building, according to the Ministry's brief statement.
