Aqaba, Jordan – Over 400 young men and women are participating in Ramadan sports tournaments launched by the Aqaba Governorate's youth directorate. The tournaments feature chess and table tennis competitions held at various youth centers across the governorate.
According to Ahmad al-Hasan, the director of youth in Aqaba, these activities are part of the Ramadan initiatives organized by the Ministry of Youth throughout the Kingdom. The aim is to refine the skills of young people and build their mental and physical capabilities.
Al-Hasan explained that the tournaments are designed to improve concentration and strategic thinking through the sports of tennis and chess, targeting age groups from 12 to 30 years old.
Competitions commence daily at 9 p.m., with competitive tracks designed to ensure fair opportunities for all participants. Winners will be awarded motivational prizes at the conclusion of the competitions in each youth center.
The Ministry of Youth is focused on developing plans for youth centers to transform them into attractive hubs that foster an atmosphere of fair sports competition.
The ministry also aims to provide positive alternatives and sports platforms that invest young people's time in the evenings and develop their various skills.
Participation is open to all members of youth centers and members of the local community in Aqaba. The ministry emphasizes its commitment to involving different age groups to promote interaction among young people in a distinctive Ramadan sports atmosphere.
