Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, met with SangHyup Kim, Executive Director of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), during his official visit to the Kingdom. The meeting was attended by Mahamadou Tounkara, GGGI’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, and Christophe Assicot, the Institute’s Country Representative in Jordan.

Minister Toukan praised the level of cooperation with GGGI, highlighting its role in supporting Jordan’s priorities in green growth, climate action, and mobilising climate finance. She noted that this work aligns with the country’s Economic Modernisation Vision, national green growth plans, and Jordan’s commitments under the Paris Agreement.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen partnership with GGGI, particularly following the host country agreement signed in August 2025. This, they agreed, will provide longterm technical and institutional support. They also examined prospects for expanding GGGI programmes, aligning them with government priorities, and developing a framework for the Institute’s work in Jordan.

Mr. Kim expressed appreciation for the strong partnership with the Jordanian government, reaffirming GGGI’s commitment to helping Jordan access climate finance, develop bankable projects, strengthen national capacities, and advance the transition to an inclusive, climateresilient green economy.
