Aleppo International Airport was decommissioned by a Zionist
aggression targeting the airport at dawn on Monday.
In a statement to Syrian news agency SANA, a military source
said that at around 4.30 a.m. on Monday, the Zionist army carried out aerial
aggression from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea west of Latakia,
targeting Aleppo International Airport.
The source added that the aggression resulted in material
damage to the airport's runway and its decommissioning.
For its part, the
Syrian Ministry of Transport announced today the conversion of scheduled
flights through Aleppo International Airport (back and forth) to become through
Damascus and Latakia airports.
Early last May, the airport was hit by similar shelling,
killing a military and injuring seven people, including civilians.
The bombing caused the airport's decommissioning, according
to the official media at the time, by a Syrian military source.
The airport was twice
decommissioned by an Israeli bombing last March, killing three people,
including a Syrian officer, according to a tally published by the Syrian
Observatory for Human Rights.
