Pursuant to the
Jordanian Currency Issue System No. (55) of 2022, published in the Official
Gazette on October 2, 2022, and following the statement published by the
Central Bank of Jordan on January 7, 2023 regarding the fifth series of
banknotes, the Central Bank of Jordan is pleased to announce the issuance of
the five dinars/fifth series banknote, which features the portrait of His
Majesty the late King Abdullah I.
This series will be
put into circulation starting from today, Wednesday, August 16, 2023, alongside
the current fourth series of five dinars banknotes. This series will include
the latest security features used in the world of currency production, in
addition to improving the quality of banknotes and extending their life in
circulation. This will complete the issuance of all denominations (one dinar,
five dinars, ten dinars, twenty dinars and fifty dinars) of the fifth series in
circulation.
