United Kingdom: 7.7 million passengers travelled through Heathrow last month

Heathrow Airport in London reported a 22% increase in passengers travelling through the airport during July compared to the same month last year.

According to Heathrow Airport in a statement that 7.7 million passengers traveled through the airport during July compared to the same month last year, when 6.3 million traveled through the airport, but that number is 1 percent less than the record number of passengers who traveled through the airport in July 2019 before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The airport attributed the annual increase in passengers last month to flights to and from Asia, which recorded a 129% increase, and flights to and from North America, an increase of 77%.
