On Tuesday evening, the electric load rose to 3,700
megawatts, the highest during the current summer, while the morning load
reached 3,460 megawatts.
The heatwave in the Kingdom of Jordan has caused a marked
rise in electric loads.
NEC confirmed its ability to cope with the demand for
electric power through the implementation of appropriate operational plans and
the readiness of generating plants, transformation plants and the
transportation network in general to accommodate the expected demand for
electric power during the summer season.
According to the company's Facebook page, the electrical
system had a maximum summer load of 3,850 megawatts last August.
The highest summer load for the year is expected to reach
3,900 megawatts if the Kingdom's heat waves continue during the summer.
