Industry and poultry breeders confirm the availability of poultry in the local market

The Ministry of
Industry, Trade and Supply and the Union of Poultry Breeders confirmed the
availability of fresh poultry in the local market in sufficient quantities to
meet the needs of consumers, while there is a natural demand for the purchase
of poultry.
The ministry's media
spokesman, Yanal al-Barmawi, said that the ministry received observations from
some retail stores about the lack of supply of sufficient quantities of fresh
poultry by suppliers, and they were contacted to increase quantities and ensure
that there is no shortage in supply.
Hassan Abu Daqra,
secretary of the Union of Poultry Breeders, said that fresh and locally
produced poultry is available in the markets and in quantities exceeding
consumption, stressing that companies and suppliers supply the quantities that
consumers need daily.
He explained that the
federation developed a plan in agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture
before Ramadan so that the quantities of slaughter between 22-24 million birds
during the holy month, which was achieved during the first half of Ramadan.
Abu Daqra pointed out
that 200,000 birds are distributed to the poultry slaughtering place daily, as
what was distributed from the beginning of the holy month reached 3 million
birds.
