The Central Bank of Jordan announces that its cyber incident response team has joined the International Response Teams (TF-CSIRT)

In a move that strengthens its position among the cyber incident response teams as one of the leading teams in the field of cyber security, the "Jo-FinCERT” team of the financial and banking sector of the Central Bank of Jordan obtained international recognition from the international organization "TF-CSIRT”, thus becoming  The first response team in the Kingdom to obtain this recognition from the "TF-CSIRT" organization, which is today considered one of the most important international organizations specialized in the field of responding to cyber incidents, which provides technical and technical support services, coordination and training to its members in the field of cyber security, and the organization includes in its membership several teams  A response from various countries of the world, most notably the countries of the European Union

 In this context, the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, Dr.Adel Al-Sharkas stated that this achievement is a major step in supporting the national efforts to enhance the Kingdom's capabilities in the field of cyber security, and raise the level of the Kingdom's classification in the Global cyber security Index (GCI: Global Cyber ​​Index), in addition to the importance of strengthening cooperation with international organizations in the fields of cyber security, In order to benefit from international experiences and exchange information about cyber threats to which those countries are exposed, especially; Response teams concerned with the financial and banking sector. 

In his turn, the Executive Director of the Response Unit at the Central Bank, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Shafei, confirmed that the international recognition of the "Jo-FinCERT" team came after undergoing several evaluation sessions from the "TF-CSIRT" organization to verify that all the required conditions and standards were met, Whereas, the response unit at the Central Bank met all the necessary requirements, which gives a clear indication of the level of efficiency of the response team for the financial and banking sector, led by the Central Bank of Jordan, in a manner comparable to the international response teams and their counterparts in the financial and banking sector, Joining the Jo-FinCERT response team will provide access to a wide range of resources and expertise specialized in the field of cyber security, and will help enhance its capabilities in responding to dealing with cyber incident.
