A meeting in JEDCO for the transition towards a green economy

In the presence of a large number of industrialists, the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation held today in its building in Abdali an open meeting on ways to reach the green economy in cooperation with the Jordan Chamber of Industry and the Jordan

 Green Building Council, coinciding with the International Day for Recycling.

The meeting was opened on behalf of the Executive Director of the corporation, Assistant Director Mr. Mutee’ Ghnimat, where he confirmed that the corporation has included a strategic plan to support the economic sectors for climate adaptation and the transition to  environmentally friendly green projects. This meeting aims to discuss the mechanisms of action and financing to achieve a green economy, and according to what was stated in the vision of economic modernization, especially in light of efforts and cooperation between various government authorities and the private sector to reach sustainable economic development and adapt to climate change.

During the workshop, Engineer Maamoun Abu Shawer, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at JEDCO, Engineer Maen Al-Ayasrah, Director of the Energy and Environmental Sustainability Unit at the Jordan Chamber of Industry, and Engineer Abdullah Bdair, member of the Administrative Board of the Jordan Green Building Council, gave a presentation on the concept of green economy and the advantages of transforming into a green enterprise for the economic sectors in terms of reducing costs and lowering negative impacts on the environment,  especially with the world moving towards a green economy and green jobs, which contributes to  increasing Jordanian exports. In addition to the support programs available to stimulate the transition towards a green economy.

At the end of the meeting, which was moderated by Dr. Bassam Al-Zoubi, member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Green Building Council, experiences and success stories of economic projects that achieved tangible results in the transition to a green economy were reviewed.
