Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization started
implementing its inspection plans targeting markets and border crossings in
order to tighten control over goods and products that are in high demand before
and during the blessed month of Ramadan while continuing periodic and sudden
tours of fuel stations gas agencies and distributors, and goldsmiths' shops.
The Foundation said
in a statement that the inspection tours are carried out according to
comprehensive plans that cover all the governorates of the Kingdom and continue
during the morning, evening periods and in Saturdays, in addition to launching
an awareness and educational campaign about the most demanded and consumed
products in the markets during the holy month through the Foundation’s pages on
social media.
The statement
indicated that among the products that will be intensified control over:
decorative ropes, cooking utensils, electrical appliances, household appliances,
children’s toys, clothes, shoes, bags, and various cleaning and cosmetic
materials, in addition to checking weights scales volumes and pre- packaged.
The Foundation called
the citizens to report any violating or counterfeit products via the unified
complaints phone and WhatsApp (065301243) and the Foundation’s pages on social
media, and through the complaints icon on the Foundation’s website and the
application "bekhedmatikom” and through the "Sand Jo” platform at the number
(065008080).
