The Department of Statistics released its annual report on
wholesale trade prices for 2022, reaching 104.24 compared to 98.84 for 2021,
marking a rise of 5.46%.
This resulted from an increase in the prices of "selling
fuel, metals, construction materials, and supplies” group by 11.32%, the prices
of "trading agricultural raw materials, grains, food, beverages, and tobacco”
by 3.48%, and the prices of "selling motor vehicles and their parts and
motorcycles” group by 4.63%. The prices of "selling machinery, equipment and
supplies” group increased by 6.13%, and the prices of "selling textiles,
clothing, personal and household goods” group increased by 2.68%.
The report also indicates an increase in the general
wholesale trade price index for the fourth quarter of 2022, reaching 105.06%,
compared to 100.55% during the same period in 2021, recording an increase of
4.49% , this resulted from the 6.88% rise in the prices of the "sale of motor
vehicles, parts and motorcycles” group, the prices of the "trade in agricultural
raw materials, grains, food, beverages and tobacco” group by 3.24%, the prices
of the "sale of fuel, metals, construction materials and supplies” group by
5.09%, the prices of the "trade in machinery, equipment and supplies” by 6.06%,
and the prices of the group "sale of textiles, clothing, personal and household
goods” at 2.25%.
