Finance Minister Muhammad Al-Issis said that the number of
current claims registered with the Public Funds Directorate amounts to 129,037
due on companies and individuals.
Al-Ississ added, in
response to a question by Representative Khalil Attia, that placing the
precautionary seizure sign is carried out according to the Public Funds Law and
is placed on movable and immovable funds, and that the request to inform public
funds is verbal without confiscating personal documents or preventing travel,
in order to review the directorate and settle their claims for those who do not

He pointed out that
people are not arrested at airports and border posts, whether they owe public
funds or student loans, but rather inform them orally without delay.
Regarding the
validity of the information about the arrest of students at airports on the
background of university tuition, the minister stressed that reporting the
review does not prevent travel or delay, but its purpose is to inform the
citizen that he has a financial obligation to review the Directorate of Public
Funds to settle it, indicating that there is an office of the Ministry of
Justice at the airport that handles By
collecting the sums adjudicated by persons and issued by a judicial execution,
the citizen can pay any sums owed by him.
And he indicated that
the Directorate of Public Funds implements the Public Funds Law No. 6 of 1952
and its amendments, and some regard to the value of the claim, as the value of
small amounts is taken into account, and the attachment is not made except when
the claim is difficult to collect.
He noted that the
process of exemption from public funds affects treasury revenues significantly,
and exemption is granted periodically for small amounts and difficult cases to
which the law of exemption from public funds applies.
He pointed out that
the student loan fund system does not permit exemption except in the event of
the death of the student borrower or complete disability.
