1.273 billion dinars Amman industry exports within two months

Amman Chamber of Industry exports increased during the past two months by 20 percent compared to the same period last year. 

 According to statistical data obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Amman industry exports rose during the past two months to 1.273 billion dinars, compared to 1.057 billion dinars for the same period last year.

  Exports of all ten industrial sectors grew during these two periods by a rate ranging between 6 and 28 percent, most of which went to India, the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, recording a value of 610 million dinars.  

Exports to India amounted to 238 million dinars, followed by the United States of America with 195 million, then Iraq with 137 million, then Saudi Arabia with a value of 120 million dinars.  

According to the geographical distribution of exports, Arab countries came in the lead with a value of 471 million dinars, non-Arab Asian countries 455 million, and African countries 9 million dinars, while exports to North American countries amounted to 203 million, South American countries about 21 million, European Union countries 50 million and European countries. 

 Outside the union, 23 million dinars, and other countries worth about 41 million dinars. 

 Exports were distributed among the sectors of the mining industries with a value of 461 million dinars, chemical and cosmetics 245 million, engineering, electrical and information technology 165 million dinars, while the value of the exports of the catering, food, agricultural and livestock sectors amounted to 138 million dinars, therapeutic and medical supplies 77 million, leather and textiles 69 million dinars.

  The rest of the exports were distributed among the packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies industries with a value of 54 million dinars, plastic and rubber 44 million, construction 17 million, and wood and furniture industries with a value of about 3 million dinars.  

The Amman Chamber of Industry, which was established in 1962, currently includes 8,600 industrial establishments in its membership, employing 159,000 workers, with a capital of about 5 billion.
