The Jordanian Group for Free and Development Zones has begun handing over 16 investment contracts to companies specialized in the transit and export trade sector, as part of a campaign to promote investment opportunities in the free zone at Queen Alia International Airport.

According to a statement, On Sunday, the free zones referred to a promotional campaign for a number of investment opportunities, targeting the transit trade sectors and companies specialized in exporting food, pharmaceutical and agricultural materials whose activity requires speedy handling and shipping, within an infrastructure equipped according to the latest international standards in the field of handling and shipping.

Abd Al Hameed Gharaibeh, Director General of the Free Zones, said that the new investment contracts ranged from 45 percent foreign investment, while 55 percent of those opportunities went to Jordanian private sector companies, indicating that these investments will contribute to providing new job opportunities for Jordanian youth.

Gharaibeh stressed that the free zone at Queen Alia International Airport, as a result of the royal interest, has become the first at the level of the Jordanian free zones as an investment destination by various investment sectors, benefiting from the investment incentives it provides, especially the new tax exemptions included in the new investment environment law, as well as costs. Encouraging and stimulating investment provided by the free zones administration in the region.

He added that the royal directives reflected positively on the enhancement of smart services, infrastructure and the performance of the unified service center, indicating that the free zones administration, as a result of the increasing demand, will announce similar new investment opportunities in the coming months.
