Launch of the 13th edition of the Queen Rania Award for Entrepreneurship "Orange Corners"

The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at Princess Sumaya University for Technology launched the 13th edition of the Queen Rania National Award for Entrepreneurship 2023, in cooperation with "ipark" at the Royal Scientific Society, and in a strategic partnership with Zain Innovation Platform.

This year, the award is supported by the Dutch Embassy in Jordan in a special edition organized as part of its "Orange Corners" program to incubate emerging businesses, which is run in more than 15 countries around the world.

The "Orange Corners" program aims to support 40 young Jordanian entrepreneurs who have passed the idea stage annually, and the incubation program provides capacity building, business development support, networking opportunities, training, and mentorship sessions; With the aim of contributing to enhancing the environment of Jordanian startups.

The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Dr. Wijdan Abu Al-Haija, affirmed the university's keenness to give students opportunities to present their entrepreneurial ideas and face the challenges of the labor market.Since its establishment on the university campus, the center has been developing and supporting technical entrepreneurship in Jordan by organizing many activities that have benefited thousands of entrepreneurs, professionals and students in Jordan, and has helped put some emerging and successful Jordanian companies on the path of innovation and achievement.

Abu Al-Haija added that the Queen Rania National Award for Entrepreneurship was designed with the aim of empowering entrepreneurs, especially young people, from all over the Kingdom to create an entrepreneurial culture and promote entrepreneurial spirit.

For his part, Director of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, Muhammad Obeidat, indicated that the award focused this year on technological projects, as it seeks to obtain innovative ideas from individuals, research teams and entrepreneurs, in addition to startups in the early stages of new products, processes and services.

The incubation manager at iPARK, Engineer Sereen Doueiri, affirmed the commitment to employing the accumulated expertise to support, motivate and empower entrepreneurs and startups, and motivate them to apply for the award.

In turn, Tariq Al-Bitar, Executive Director of the Department of Media, Communication, Innovation and Sustainability Management at Zain Jordan, stressed the importance of this award in supporting Jordanian innovators and entrepreneurs, which contributes every year to motivating a new group of Jordanian youth to advance innovative ideas that contribute to community service and keep pace with the requirements of the times. We value this strategic partnership that brings together the Zain Innovation Platform with the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship.
