Approval of the “Government Services Development” system in July

The government confirmed that continuous improvement at the level of government services is a strategic goal of the public sector modernization program.  

The government indicated that it has identified 4 priorities in the government services component that it will work to achieve during 2023. 

In next April, the foundations and standards for government services management and governance will be developed. 

 In July, the government services development system will be approved, followed by the development of an integrated mechanism to measure the level of service performance and hear the voice of the citizen, and in December, the development of several comprehensive government service centers distributed across the regions of the Kingdom. 

 The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernization, Nasser Al-Sharida, had reviewed the initiatives identified by the government as a work priority for the year 2023 in the government services component, as they included the development and amendment of the system of legislation and regulations related to public administration, in a way that supports the governance of services and follow-up on the level of performance, with the aim of  Improving the quality of service provided to citizens, through approving the government services development system, from which a guide for managing the services provided will emerge that includes standards for providing service in an appropriate manner in terms of time, quality and other criteria. 

 He added that there will be an integrated mechanism to measure the level of performance of services provided to citizens, including reviewing the mechanisms used on the two platforms at your service, evaluating your experience, and monitoring citizens' opinions on social media, in a way that ensures obtaining comprehensive feedback that is based on developing the efficiency and effectiveness of government services provided. 

 Al-Sharida also indicated that a number of comprehensive government centers will be established this year, distributed in the regions of the Kingdom, similar to the Moqbelin Center, and work will be carried out in parallel to develop the policy of comprehensive government service centers. 

 In terms of stating the foundations for its establishment and organization according to geographical areas, population density and the entities involved in providing the service, for the purposes of reducing the burden on citizens and facilitating access to services.
