After several complaints from citizens about the state of King Abdullah I Gardens, which are located in Wadi Saqra Street, "Al- Anbat " went to the garden's website to find out more details about it and the state it reached.

Some citizens residing in the area and those present in it expressed their dissatisfaction with what the gardens have reached, and how they were previously an outlet for young and old, and today they have become deserted, a shelter for some homeless people, and a breeding ground for stray dogs and cats that no one visits, indicating that they have asked the competent authorities to restore the garden to its former state and restore the green spaces in it to be An entertainment destination for children and families.

In turn, Eng. Ali Al-Slaihat, project manager for King Abdullah I Park, stated that he will begin work on rehabilitating the gardens in 2023 to be a public park for Amman residents and visitors, pointing out that there will be no investment in it.

He added that since the end of 2019, and under the directives of the Mayor of Amman, Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, to rehabilitate the gardens to be as they were before, and in line with those directives, the Greater Amman Municipality has started to submit plans to engineering companies for the purpose of engineering design, and thus a design competition was held for which 4 engineering companies submitted, and the winning design was chosen. To be applied within the parks rehabilitation project.

He pointed out that the competition jury was from the Engineers Association and engineers from the public sector, in addition to members from the Greater Amman Municipality, and the winning company submitted plans (AS BUILT) and these are accurate sizes plans except for the executive plans, after which the designs were prepared by the company for the Greater Amman Municipality.

He added that in mid-November 2022, a tender was put forward to rehabilitate the park, and several contracting companies visited the site and inspected it in order to submit the cost for the bid, and that it is now under study in the Bidding Department in the Greater Amman Municipality.

It is worth mentioning that His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed the need for the residents of Amman to feel the quality of the service provided to them by the Municipality. As a result, the Greater Amman Municipality began preparing the strategic plan for the year 2022-2026, and its duration is 5 years, and it includes several projects at a cost of 918 million, including the establishment of parks and gardens. At an estimated cost of 44 million.
