665 million dinars were the exports of Amman’s industry last month

Amman Chamber of Industry exports increased by 38 percent during the first month of the current year 2023, compared to the same period last year. According to statistical data obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Amman's industry exports rose during January of this year to 665 million dinars, compared to 483 million dinars for the same period last year.

Exports of all ten industrial sectors recorded a growth during the last month of this year, with the exception of the construction industries sector, whose exports recorded a decline of 14 percent.

India, the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and Iraq acquired, during the past month, more than half of the Amman Chamber of Industry's exports during the last month of this year, recording a value of 368 million dinars.

According to the geographical distribution of the Chamber’s exports during the last month of this year, Arab countries came in the foreground with a value of 234 million dinars, non-Arab Asian countries with 279 million dinars, and African countries with about 6 million dinars.

The Chamber's exports to North American countries amounted to 90 million dinars, to South American countries 10 million dinars, and to the countries of the European Union, non-EU European countries and other countries worth 15 million dinars for each group.

During the last month of this year, the Chamber’s exports were distributed among the sectors of mining industries with a value of 256 million dinars, chemicals and cosmetics with 128 million dinars, and engineering, electrical and information technology with 81 million dinars.

The value of exports of the sectors of catering, food, agricultural and livestock industries amounted to 69 million dinars, leather and textiles amounted to 34 million dinars, and therapeutic and medical supplies amounted to 31 million dinars. The rest of Amman's industry exports during the past month were distributed among the packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies industries with a value of about 30 million dinars, plastic and rubber with a value of 26 million dinars, construction with 7 million dinars, and wood and furniture industries with 1.4 million dinars.

The Amman Chamber of Industry, which was established in 1962, currently includes 8,600 industrial establishments in its membership, employing 159,000 workers, with a capital of about 5 billion dinars.
