Irrigation and water: Jordan will publish its water strategy.

Mohammed al-Najjar, the minister of water and irrigation, stated that the water plan, which depends on water under Jordan's control, would be unveiled at the end of this month.

The Ministry's budget was extremely tight, and its increase was due to a decrease in water loss. Less than 90 cubic meters of water were used per person per year for all uses.

Al-Najjar also mentioned that last year's water and sanitation bids reached 600 million and that the national carrier will expand by 60% over what it already is, raising the per capita share and providing comfort to us until 2040.

According to Al-Najjar, 600 million dinars will be up for bid this year, and water coverage increased to more than 95% while sewage coverage dropped to 68% from 70%.

Monthly water rates did not increase in price, making it easier for people to pay their bills and giving businesses financial liquidity.

Given that the southern dam stock was better this year than previous, rainfall in the north is significantly lower than its rate, and in the middle it is at its rate, he remarked that both smart and mechanical water meters would be modified.

This occurred during a meeting of the Parliamentary Finance Committee to go through the 2023 budget for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
