The value of Amman Chamber of Commerce exports increased last year by 19.6%

The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce last year, for the export of goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries, increased by 19.6 percent compared to 2021.

According to statistical data, the value of the Chamber’s exports during the past year amounted to 885 million dinars, compared to about 740 million dinars during 2021.

The data indicated that the number of certificates of origin issued by the Chamber last year amounted to 34,309 certificates, compared to 35,866 certificates in 2021, a decline of 4.3 percent.

These certificates went to many countries, most notably Saudi Arabia with 8380, Kuwait 6453, UAE 4468, Iraq 1415, and Egypt with 1068 certificates.

The Chamber’s exports were distributed to Iraq with a value of about 251 million dinars, Egypt with a value of 109 million dinars, Saudi Arabia with a value of 104 million dinars, the UAE with a value of 94 million dinars, and Kuwait with a value of 36 million dinars.

According to the data, exports of foreign products "re-exported" amounted to 406 million dinars, industrial products amounted to 210 million dinars, agricultural products amounted to about 159 million dinars, and Arab products amounted to about 71 million dinars, and the rest went to many other different products.

The Chamber issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural and animal products and raw natural resources, for foreign goods that are re-exported, and for foreign goods purchased from the local market under specific conditions.

Certificates of origin are also issued for Jordanian industrial products, according to the exporter’s request.  Based on the original factory invoice certified by an industrial chamber and an original and duly certified certificate of origin issued by an industrial chamber proving that the goods are of Jordanian origin.
