Occupied Jerusalem: 19 martyrs, more than two thousand injured, 300 demolitions, and 70 settlement projects during 2022

The Jerusalem Governorate monitored the deaths of 19 martyrs, the injuries of 2,486 Jerusalemites, the storming of 60,089 settlers into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the arrest of 3,504 Jerusalemites, the deportation of 871 citizens, 306 demolitions and bulldozing operations, and 70 new settlement projects during the past year.

This came in the governorate's annual report on the violations of the Israeli occupation in the Jerusalem governorate for the year 2022, which it issued on Monday, and which revealed a dangerous and unprecedented escalation in the frequency of violations in all aspects of life.
19 martyrs died, and the occupation is holding 23 bodies; during the year 2022, 19 martyrs died in the occupied capital, including a female journalist and a child. They are: Fahmy Hamad, Karim Al-Qawasmi, the child Yamen Jaffal, Abd Al-Rahman Qassem, Alaa Shahham, the journalist Sherine Abu Aqelah, Walid Al-Sharif, Muhammad Al-Shaham, Yazan Afana, Muhammad Abu Jumaa, Muhammad Abu Kafia, Fayez Khaled Damdum, Uday Al-Tamimi, and Barakat Odeh. Habbas Rayan, Dawood Rayan, Amer Halabiya, and the Jerusalemite brothers Muhammad and Muhannad Youssef Mutair.
The occupation authorities are still holding the bodies of 23  Jerusalemite martyrs, of whom 19  are in the occupation refrigerators. 2486 people were injured in the attacks of the occupation forces and settlers.

During the year 2022, the Jerusalem Governorate monitored the injuries resulting from the occupation forces' use of excessive force against Jerusalemites throughout the governorate, as about 2486 injuries were recorded with live and "rubber" bullets and physical assaults at the hands of the occupation forces and settlers, after which they were transferred to hospitals.

Most of the injuries were concentrated in the upper areas of the body, which led to dozens of fractures and internal bleeding in the head, and some of the injured lost their eyes as a result of direct injury.

Thousands of tear gas suffocation injuries were recorded during confrontations that erupted at several points of contact throughout the governorate’s towns and camps, the most prominent of which were in the courtyards of the blessed Aqsa Mosque, the Bab al-Amoud area, the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, Qalandia camp, Abu Dis, Jabal al-Mukaber, al-Tur, al-Ram, Issawiya, and the neighborhoods of Silwan town.
