Tourist ship anchored on the shores of Aqaba carrying 4 thousand tourists

The first cruise ship in the new year 2023 docked on the shores of the city of Aqaba,On Monday,carrying about 4,000 tourists from various European and Arab countries.

The head of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Nayef Al-Fayez, said in a press statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the tourism of ships reflects positively on tourism and the economy in the Kingdom in general and Aqaba in particular, pointing out that 90 passenger ships are expected to arrive in the city of Aqaba during the current year. This will have a significant impact on the tourism movement in the Kingdom. He affirmed the authority's readiness to provide the necessary infrastructure services for foreign and domestic tourism, pointing out that during the current month a passenger terminal will be opened in the old port to facilitate the entry of visitors and speed up procedures.

Al-Fayez explained that the tourism movement in 2022 was promising compared to the previous year, as the city of Aqaba regained its tourism activity, as well as the Kingdom in general, indicating that at this stage the focus will be on strengthening this activity to benefit the national economy and tourism in general.
