Qatar's Ministry of Health has announced the imposition of new requirements for all travelers (citizens and residents) coming from China to Qatar as of Tuesday evening.

According to the Ministry of Health of Qatar, as announced today on its website, all travelers arriving from China, regardless of vaccination or immunity status, must submit a negative result for the BCR test within 48 hours of departure to Qatar.

The ministry stated that updating the current policy on the coronavirus pandemic is a temporary measure taken to protect travelers arriving in Qatar and the community from the virus, where China is currently experiencing a widespread spread of COVID-19 among its population.

The Ministry stressed that quarantine is no longer mandatory for all travelers arriving from abroad, but travelers who test positive for the virus after arriving in Qatar must undergo quarantine measures in accordance with the procedures followed in the country, adding that citizens and residents of Qatar are no longer required to take a rapid antigen test upon arrival in Qatar.

The ministry added that visitors are no longer required to bring a BCR or rapid antigen test certificate with a negative result before traveling to Qatar.
