Qatar aims to attract 6 million tourists by 2030

The Qatar Tourism Authority intends to attract 6 million tourists annually by 2030, with a focus on 15 priority countries, and to identify special opportunities, whether tourists travel to Qatar from their home countries or stop in Qatar on their way to other destinations.
 
Qatar's head of the Qatar Tourism Authority, Akbar al-Bakr, stated that Qatar experienced rapid expansion of the tourism landscape prior to and following the 2022 World Cup.

He clarified that this tournament allowed many to experience Qatar’s hospitality, culture, and authentic heritage.

According to Qatar Tourism Authority data, through the World Cup, Qatar has attracted more than 1.4 million tourists, and hotel occupancy rates ranged from 90 to 100 percent.

According to data, experts working in the Qatari tourism sector expect to lead the sector with plans to diversify the Qatari economy in the coming period due to the great development witnessed by the sector's infrastructure before the World Cup, including resorts, hotels, entertainment cities, and beaches.

The data indicated that the World Cup was the largest promotional campaign in the history of tourism in Qatar, with the World Cup reaching more than 5 billion views, according to the FIFA President.

Qatar has witnessed a significant increase in the number of hotel rooms, which exceeded 45,000 by the end of this year.

Qatar Tourism is diversifying markets for exporting tourism to Qatar, targeting new markets including India and China, and Qatar Tourism has launched several initiatives to promote tourism facilities in the country.

Qatar offers great facilities to attract tourists from around the world, including visa exemption for citizens of more than 95 countries.
