Popular discontent with rising vegetable price

The citizens complained for "Alanbat" about the
rise in vegetable and fruit price, they stressed that despite the promises of
the permanent government to reduce prices, the reality is contrary, and they
called on the concerned authorities to take measures that are in the interest
of the citizen and not against him, especially during the winter, which carries
with it harsh living conditions, such as securing means of heating.
In turn, the media spokesman for the Consumer Protection
Association, Hussein Al-Amoush, explained that the increase occurred in
conjunction with the doubling of the winter season’s effectiveness, indicating
that the weather factor clearly affects the production of some types of food
products, especially when frost waves occur and agricultural crops are damaged
locally, pointing out that the required quantities decrease and increase. Prices and demand for them both at the local
and international level.
He pointed out that at the end of each year and before the
fiscal year, civil and military institutions are doubling demand for products
in preparation for the New Year.
Al-Amoush explained that until today, the weather did not
cause real blows to the crop, and the rise in the prices of vegetables is
considered a slight increase, indicating that it touched high-consumption
products such as tomatoes and zucchini.
He concluded that the current price index is still positive
compared to previous years, especially during the Corona pandemic.
