In a move that is considered the first of its kind at the World Cup, a number of young Qatari volunteers carried out a hospitality distribution of Qatari heritage sweets to the foreign fans of the World Cup.
What is remarkable about the scene is that the sweets contain a barcode in their packaging. As soon as it is opened on the tourists’ phones, detailed information and pictures about the Islamic religion and its teachings appear to them, in addition to trips to visit mosques, introductions to Islam in six languages, and listening to the Qur’an in forty-seven languages.
This step comes as part of the Qatar World Cup programs aimed at spreading the tolerant image of the Islamic religion to the fans of the World Cup in order to inform them of what true Islam is.
