13040 people joined their work through the National Employment Program

The number of beneficiaries of the National Employment Program reached 13,040 people, who signed contracts and joined their work within agreements with private sector establishments, which totaled 785 establishments.

According to the latest statistics obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) ,On Tuesday, the number of female beneficiaries reached 7,070 and 5,970 males, including 472 females and 523 males from the National Aid Fund beneficiaries.  

The highest rates of employment rates were recorded in the industrial sector by 29 percent, education by 28 percent, and tourism by 17 percent, while the lowest rates of employment rates were recorded in the mining and quarrying sector by 2 percent, activities of external organizations and bodies 1 percent, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supplies 0.03 percent.

The National Employment Program 2022 "Tashgheel", which was launched last April, provides 60,000 job opportunities for Jordanians, both men and women, in the private sector.

The total job opportunities available by private sector institutions and companies to date amounted to 50,702 job opportunities over the duration of the program, 37 percent of which are in the capital, Amman, followed by 29 percent in Irbid, 14 percent in Aqaba, 8 percent in Zarqa, and 4 percent in Karak.  And 1 percent for each of Ajloun, Tafila, Balqa, Mafraq, Jerash, Madaba and Maan.

The total number of job seekers registered in the program reached 40,356, including 20,606 females and 19,750 males, while the percentage of job seekers holding a bachelor’s degree or higher was 46 percent.

Employment is carried out by employers according to their needs and in coordination with representatives of the economic sectors and fields. Financial incentives are provided for a period of six months for one worker: 130 dinars (wage support) + 10 dinars (support for social security contributions) + 10 dinars (transportation allowance), which equals 150 dinars.

The program, which was launched last April, called on job seekers to apply by visiting the employment directorates and divisions in all governorates of the Kingdom or the service provision centers announced on  www.tashgheel.gov.jo .
