The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Roman Vasilenko, considered Jordan one of Kazakhstan's most promising partners in the Arab world.

He told the Jordanian News Agency (Petra), On Monday, that since the first day of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries, we have united and converged positions on major global and regional issues, and our countries have interacted on multilateral platforms, including through the United Nations, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the International Centre for International Cooperation.

He added that the Kazakhstan's relations with Jordan are developing dynamically,as the President of Kazakhstan visited Jordan twice, and His Majesty King Abdullah II  visited Kazakhstan seven times, and finally the leaders of the two countries  met on the sidelines of the 77 session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2022 in New York.

Vasilenko praised Jordan's active participation and role in the work of the Conference of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, explaining that Kazakhstan and Jordan support international efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis.

He added ,"We know that Jordan, as a country neighbouring Syria, is experiencing negative social, economic and other consequences of this crisis due to the influx of Syrian refugees.Kazakhstan therefore provides assistance to Syrian refugees in Jordan, particularly through UNHCR's Office for Syrian Refugees living in the Za'atari camp.

He said that Kazakhstan is interested in expanding investment, trade and economic cooperation with Jordan, noting that the current volume of trade is less than ambitious, and that the main obstacle is the lack of rapid and inexpensive logistics routes between our countries,so it  necessary to establish specific mechanisms for the delivery of goods from the two countries with the participation of large logistics companies.

He stressed the importance of taking effective measures to build trade corridors between the two countries, stressing that the upcoming fifth meeting of the governmental committee in Amman in 2023 will have a positive impact on expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

He added that direct contacts are needed between the two countries' businesses, which will contribute to the discovery of broad opportunities for mutual cooperation in various fields.
