The Cabinet approved the Jordanian strategy for artificial intelligence and the implementation plan (2023-2027), which was prepared in cooperation with the European Union (EU), the United Nations Economic and Social Committee (ESCWA) and the United Nations for Industrial Development (UNIDO) and in consultation with the relevant authorities from the public, private, academic and security sectors and civil society.

The Media spokesman for the Ministry of Digital Economy and Leadership, ShurooqHilal, said Jordan's Artificial Intelligence strategy and executive plan 2023-2027 were based on the recommendations of Jordan's policy for artificial intelligence for the year 2020, which requires the development of a general strategic framework for the activation of artificial intelligence in all priority sectors as well as the creation of a road map with a specific time frame for the implementation of projects and initiatives emanating from the strategy and its operational plan.

And she indicated in exclusive statements to "Al - Anbat" that the Jordanian strategy for artificial intelligence contains a clear vision that aspires to elevate Jordan to be one of the leading countries and to compete at the regional level in this field, by creating a legislative, technological and pioneering environment that attracts investment in artificial intelligence, and exploiting the national system that supports the adoption of technologies Artificial intelligence, such as efficient and trained Jordanian human resources and digital infrastructure, to contribute to supporting the national economy.

Hilal stressed that five main objectives of the strategy were set in line with the Artificial Intelligence policy.The first four goals were focused on the development of the Artificial Intelligence system through capacity-building and the development of Jordan's AI skills and expertise and  encourage scientific research and development in the field of artificial intelligence, promote the investment environment and entrepreneurship in the field of artificial intelligence, and ensure the legislative and regulatory environment supportive of the safe employment of artificial intelligence, while Goal 5 focused on the application of artificial intelligence tools to increase the efficiency of the public sector and priority sectors.

It is worth mentioning that the implementation plan of the Jordanian Artificial  Intelligence strategy contains 68 projects linked to the five main objectives of the 5- year strategy that support  building the supportive  system in Jordan and focuses on the adoption of artificial intelligence to develop the public sector and economic sectors.
