Intaj : The fifth generation raises Jordan's competitiveness globally

Eid Al-Sweis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Information and Communications Technology Companies" Intaj" , confirmed that the completion of the signing of an agreement to pave the way for the introduction of fifth generation services into Jordan with the three main telecom operators, raises the Kingdom's international competitiveness in telecom services.


He said, according to a statement by the association today, Tuesday, that the companies (Umniah, Orange and Zain) have provided a strong infrastructure capable of meeting all the requirements of the local market during the past years, pointing to the large investment of these companies in the Kingdom.


He added that the fifth generation is a new chapter in the world of communications and paves the way for the introduction of innovative applications that contribute to achieving a better lifestyle towards the transition to a digital economy in the Kingdom.


And he indicated that Jordan will witness a complete development in providing new services in various sectors (health, educational, agricultural, industrial, production, and others) as a result of the introduction of fifth generation services.


He pointed out that Jordan is progressing at a steady pace to be a regional center for the communications and information technology sector.
