2.870 Billion Dollar in Tourism Income at the End of Last July

The Kingdom’s
tourism income increased during the first seven months of this year by 204.5
percent to reach about $2.870 billion compared to the same period last year; As
a result of the increase in the number of tourists coming to the Kingdom by
about 1,722 million tourists to reach 2,503 million tourists.
This was offset by
an increase in spending on tourism outside the Kingdom during the same period,
reaching about $832 million, an increase of 99.7 percent over the same period
in 2021, as a result of the 95.0 percent increase in the number of tourists
leaving abroad, according to the latest data issued by the Central Bank.
On the monthly
level, the same data showed an increase in tourism income during the month of
July, compared to the corresponding month of last year, by 123.3%; To reach
$673.3 million, as a result of the increase in the number of tourists coming to
the Kingdom during the same month by about 326.4 thousand, compared to the same
month last year, reaching 587.3 thousand tourists.
At the same time,
data indicate an increase in spending on tourism outside the Kingdom during the
month of July by 55.1 percent over its level during the same month last year,
to reach $213.5 million, as a result of the increase in the number of tourists
leaving abroad by 52.9 percent.
