Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the leader of the Supreme Islamic Committee in Jerusalem and the speaker at Al-Aqsa Mosque, emphasized the pleasure that the residents of Jerusalem feel toward Jordan's official and widespread support of the Palestinian cause.

In the presence of Deputy Captain Walid Al-Adwan, Secretary Nasser Kamal, Deputy Secretary Barham Al-Baqour, and Rapporteur of the Committee on Public Freedoms and Human Rights in the Syndicate Abdullah Al-Amoush, Sabri met with the Syndicate of Lawyers Yahya Abu Abboud during his visit to the Bar Association on Sunday.

The meeting discussed the attacks on the families in Jerusalem by the Israeli occupation and ways to support the steadfastness of Jerusalemites in defending Jerusalem and the holy sites.

In response, Abu Abboud emphasized the historical significance of the syndicate in defending the identity of Jerusalem, which originates from the identity of the Arab and Islamic nations as the indelible capital of Palestine, as well as its unwavering support for the Palestinian right.

The Supreme Islamic Committee in Jerusalem and the Bar Association came to an agreement at the meeting to sign a memorandum of understanding that calls for them to use all available resources to support Jerusalemites in their steadfastness and preserving the identity of Jerusalem and the holy sites.

Abdullah Al-Amoush, a member of the Bar Association's Council and the Public Freedoms Committee's rapporteur, emphasized the national and labor union tenets of the Palestinian people's support, steadfastness in the face of the occupation, and right to protect their legitimate rights.

Dr. Hashim Ali Al-Shahwan, the Palestine Committee's Rapporteur and a member of the Council of the Bar Association, stated that as the knowledgeable and experienced advocate for the Jordanian position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people, the Committee will not hesitate to prepare legal studies and research pertaining to violations against the Palestinian people in advance of taking legal action before the appropriate judicial and human rights authorities.
