Inflation rate in Kingdom in 7 months increased by 3.63%

The general
consumer price index "inflation" for the first seven months of this
year increased by 3.63 percent, to reach 105.77 percent compared to 102.06 for
the same period last year 2021.
The Department of
Statistics said in its monthly report on Thursday that the most prominent
commodity groups that contributed to this rise are the fuel and lighting group
by 19.42 percent, transportation by 5.64 percent, dry and canned vegetables and
legumes by 12.09 percent, rents by 1.18 percent, and culture and entertainment
by 7.27 percent.
The Department of
Statistics pointed out that the general consumer price index for July of this
year increased by 5.34 percent, to reach 107.92 percent compared to 102.45 for
the same month last year.
According to the
report, the fuel and lighting group contributed mainly to this rise by 30.56
percent, transportation by 6.41 percent, rents by 4.48 percent, culture and
entertainment by 12.92 percent, and health by 6.85 percent.
