Huawei celebrated the launch of the seventh edition of the "Seeds of the Future" program, one of the company's pioneering activities, today.
In his speech, during the ceremony attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital Economy, Samira Al-Zoubi, Minister of Labor Nayef Istitieh said that young people today need to enhance their skills and enable them to enter the labor market, and the rapid developments of modern skills such as fifth generation technology, artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
He added that this cooperation comes as a result of meetings between His Majesty King Abdullah II and the CEO of Huawei, where the company continued to train Jordanian youth remotely despite the conditions imposed by the Corona pandemic, and explained to them the latest technology trends and the discovery of the technological ecosystem in China.
Huawei Jordan CEO Ethan Wang confirmed that Huawei has dedicated its efforts in Jordan to make contributions to local talents through the "Empowering Jordanian Talents" program, which includes the Seeds of the Future and the ICT competition.
He revealed that the company will launch electric cars powered by "Huawei" technology in Jordan next year, pointing out that information and communication technology is increasingly becoming as important as electricity in daily life.
Wang noted that more than 133 million new jobs will be created due to the changes brought about by digitization, according to the World Economic Forum.
Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Amman, Chen Sanguo, said that there is great cooperation at the economic and commercial level between Jordan and China, which celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them, noting that Jordan is one of the advanced countries in the world in the field of technological transformation and is a leader in The field of communications and information technology.
The Seeds of the Future Program is a highly invested, long-term CSR activity dedicated to the best ICT, STEM students worldwide.
The program aims to help local ICT professionals bridge the gaps between theory and practice and master the required skills, inspire local talent, promote knowledge exchange and increase interest in the ICT sector, and encourage participation in the digital society.
It is noteworthy that nearly 150 Jordanian students and 8,774 students from 130 countries and regions around the world benefited from the program at the end of last year.
