633 million dinars tourism income for Jordan during the first quarter

780,000 visitors
visited Jordan during the first quarter of this year, compared to 196 thousand
visitors for the same period last year, an increase of 298%, which led to an
increase in tourism income to 633 million dinars during the first quarter,
according to the media spokesman in the Ministry of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Rifai.
In a statement to
Al-Mamlaka channel, Al-Rifai added that 381,000 people visited Jordan during
the month of March.
Al-Rifai indicated
that the tourist sites are ready to receive tourists from all countries, noting
that the ministry is ready to deal with the expected tourism activity during
the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The Minister of
Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef Al-Fayez, said in a previous statement that the
tourism sector has begun a gradual recovery and will be recovering soon.
He added in a press
releases, "Since last March, the demand for tourism began, and the numbers
are within the expected and the sector's resilience helped us in this
return."
