Months after retiring from mixed martial arts, Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov made a radical change in his sports career, which he had hinted at some time ago.

The Russian third-tier football club, Ligan Dynamo, announced the signing of Nurmagomedov, the former world lightweight champion, who retired from martial arts competitions last October.

The club revealed the contract with Nurmagomedov via the "Instagram" website.

Nurmagomedov, 32 years old, decided to retire from mixed martial arts after his victory over American Justin Gethy on last October 24, in his first match after the death of his father, Abdel Manab, due to the Corona virus.

Last January, Nurmagomedovsaid that he wanted to switch to football, and wrote on Twitter that he was preparing for his debut in the matches of the popular game and was "waiting for offers".
