Alanbatnews - Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Senator Nael Kabariti, stressed the importance of the Arab-Mediterranean Free Trade Agreement (Agadir Agreement) countries and its business council, as a key tool for achieving economic integration and increasing joint trade and investment exchange between member states.

During a meeting with the executive president of the Agadir Technical Unit (ATU) Youssef Tarifa, Kabariti noted the importance of enhancing cooperation between Jordan's commercial sector and the agreements' member states to unify goals and visions, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions in the Arab countries.

The two sides agreed on holding the Agadir Business Council meeting in Jordan, creating an electronic platform to facilitate communication between business owners, focusing on four sectors, namely cars, clothing, textiles and foodstuffs, and addressing obstacles facing business communities in ratifying countries.

For his part, Tarifa pointed to the intensive efforts exerted by member states to activate it and establish a committee specialized in customs.

The Agadir Agreement is a free trade agreement which aims at developing partnership among the southern Mediterranean countries namely: Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia, and increasing economic integration among those countries as well as intensifying trade exchange and investments between them and the European Union.
