Jordan's envoy to Canada presents credentials

Alanbatnews - Jordanian Ambassador Majed Qatarneh presented his credentials to the Governor General of Canada Julie Payette, as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada.
During a meeting after the ceremony, Qatarneh conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah's greetings to Payette, and his wishes of further prosperity and growth for the Canadian people, stressing the depth of bilateral ties in various political, economic, social,and educational fields.
He voiced hope that the Jordanian-Canadian relations will witness further cooperation and partnership in the upcoming period, especially in terms of increasing economic and cultural cooperation.
The Governor General of Canada lauded the "historic and friendly" relations between the two countries, noting that they are deep-rooted and based on common values and strong ties between the two peoples.
She also pointed to common interests in the fields of trade, education, skills development and international peace-keeping missions.
She hailed Jordan's pivotal role in the Middle East, expressing appreciation for King Abdullah's keenness to reach peaceful solutions for regional crises, providing protection and a safe haven for refugees, and shouldering the ramifications of the waves of Syrian refugees.
